OPERATIONAL TRAINING FOR AFRICAN AVIATION REQUIREMENTS

African Helicopter Pilot Training

Henley Air Flight Training provides structured Helicopter Advanced Pilot Training for defence, security, government, emergency-service and parapublic operators across Africa and internationally.

Programmes extend from ab initio pilot development to advanced operational training, instructor development, recurrent training and specialised mission capability. The objective is not simply to achieve a licence or rating, but to develop competent aviation professionals, capable crews and sustainable organisational capability.

Henley Air Flight Training is a South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA)-approved training organisation based at Rand Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Training Developed
for the Mission

Every operator has different aircraft, personnel, experience and operational responsibilities. HAFT therefore approaches Military Helicopter Training and Helicopter Mission Training as capability-development requirements rather than isolated courses.

Training can be structured around the client’s fleet, operating environment and intended mission, progressing from individual technical competence to crew effectiveness, operational readiness, instructor development and internal training capability.

Informed by African Operations

HAFT Advanced forms part of the wider Henley Air aviation environment, where experience extends across helicopter operations, emergency medical services, rescue, utility aviation, aircraft maintenance and professional development. This operational context informs training scenarios, standard operating procedures, Threat and Error Management, crew coordination and decision-making.

Based in Africa, HAFT Advanced develops rotary-wing capability for environments shaped by extensive distances, varied terrain, limited infrastructure and changing operational requirements. Training combines regulated civil aviation standards with operational helicopter experience relevant to African defence, security, government and parapublic aviation.
